Alya Nur Rashidi (21/2 months)
|
|
Latest pics of Alya Nur untuk tatapan tok2, aunties, uncles and friends.
A song that she loves to hear so much:
| Quote: | When I was just a little girl
I asked my mother
What will I be?
Will I be pretty?
Will I be rich?
Here's what she said to me:
Que sera, sera.
Whatever will be, will be.
The future's not ours to see.
Que sera, sera.
What will be, will be.
When I grew up and fell in love
I asked my sweetheart
What lies ahead?
Will we have rainbows
Day after day?
Here's what my sweetheart said:
Que sera, sera.
Whatever will be, will be.
The future's not ours to see.
Que sera, sera.
What will be, will be.
Now I have children of my own.
They ask their mother,
What will I be?
Will I be handsome?
Will I be rich?
I tell them tenderly:
Que sera, sera.
Whatever will be, will be.
The future's not ours to see.
Que sera, sera.
What will be, will be.
Que sera, sera. |

Alya Nur Born on 5 November 2008
|
|
Alya Nur was born on 5 Nov 2008 after the gynaecologist decided that it's vital for the labor to be induced since my antibodi has contaminated her blood. Ibu was admitted at Hopital Universitaire Geneve (HUG) at 3pm and safely delivered baby Alya around 955pm. Weight around 2.84 kg and length of 49cm. Our situation is called Rhesus Incompatibility. The main risk of the contamination can cause anemia but luckily she only develops jaundice although a bit high. Now, ibu kene monitor Alya and gives her lots and lost of breastmilk.
More info on Rhesus Incompatibility:
| Quote: | During any pregnancy a small amount of the baby's blood can enter the mother's circulation. If the mother is Rh negative and the baby is Rh positive, the mother produces antibodies (including IgG) against the Rhesus D antigens on her baby's red blood cells. During this and subsequent pregnancies the IgG is able to pass through the placenta into the fetus and if the level of it is sufficient, it will cause a Rhesus D positive fetus to develop Rh disease. The mechanism is maternal anti-D IgG passing through the placenta to the fetus causing destruction of fetal red blood cells. Generally Rhesus disease becomes worse with each additional Rhesus incompatible pregnancy.
Most Rh disease can be prevented by treating the mother during pregnancy or promptly (within 72 hours) after childbirth. The mother has an intramuscular injection of anti-Rh antibodies (Rho(D) Immune Globulin), so that the fetal Rhesus D positive erythrocytes are destroyed before her immune system can discover them. This is passive immunity and the effect of the immunity will wear off after about 4 to 6 weeks (or longer depending on injected dose) as the anti-Rh antibodies gradually decline to zero in the maternal blood.
In summary, it is a blood incompatibility between the mother and her baby. During childbirth if the mother is rh negative and the baby is Rh positive, blood can enter the maternal circulation (from the baby) sensitising the mother against rh factor. The mother's immune system will produce antibodies to Rh factor. In subsequent pregnancies, these maternal Rh antibodies can mix into the foetal circulation during childbirth. This will cause the rupture (haemolytic anaemia) of the baby's red blood cells. |
Alhamdulillah, after a few days her jaundice has lessened... it was not worst compared to her brother. Luckily, the doctor has montinored my pregnancy through constant blood tests.. if not it would turn up like Afif who had to undergo intensive phototherapy...

On 1 Sep 2008, it was the 1st Ramadhan and also, it was the first day Ashraf entered school in Year 1 at International School of Geneva. This time it is in English language so hopefully he would be able to integrate better in school compared to his previous school, Ecole Adrian Lachenal which is in French.
